By Jeannette R. Tejeda

ISBN: 9798888371039

Release Date: May 2026

Length: 160 pages

Discover how to harness AI tools for differentiation to efficiently meet diverse student needs without increasing your teaching workload.

Drawing from conversations with educators, school visits and training sessions run by the author and her team, this book provides hands-on strategies that enable teachers to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into lesson planning, modify instructional materials and analyze student data effectively.

This book frames AI as a supportive tool, emphasizing human empathy as the foundation of effective differentiation. AI can streamline the logistics of differentiation, but it is the teacher’s understanding of students that ensures AI-driven adaptations remain human-centered, equitable and effective.

The book:

• Emphasizes empathy and ethical AI use, ensuring that differentiation remains student-centered and underscoring how teachers must recognize the unique strengths, challenges and emotional needs of students to create meaningful learning experiences.

• Provides real-world examples and teacher testimonials that illustrate the potential of using AI in lesson planning.

• Offers hands-on, classroom-ready strategies that align with the ISTE Standards.

• Covers AI-powered tools that help educators create differentiated lesson materials, adapting text complexity, offering quick modifications to instructional content and streamlining differentiation, while aligning with best practices for instructional planning.

• Integrates foundational elements of differentiated instruction — such as nurturing classroom environments, high-quality curriculum, clear and compelling learning goals, and formative assessment — showing how AI can support each one.

By showing how to balance AI’s efficiency with teacher intuition, the book helps educators create learning environments where every student feels seen, supported and challenged.

Audience: Elementary and secondary teachers; instructional coaches and curriculum specialists
