CHICAGO - June 27, 2018 - Educators came from near and far to the 2018 ISTE Conference & Expo in Chicago to learn about the latest approaches in teaching and learning. As one of the world’s most influential edtech events, ISTE 2018 had record-setting attendance.

The total number of attendees topped 18,540 for the first time. When you add in the expo hall, more than 24,000 people gathered at McCormick Place to discover new things, connect with like-minded educators and bring new techniques back to their schools.

Educators participated in 1,700 sessions and learning opportunities and heard from inspirational keynote speakers. Attendees came to Chicago from every U.S. state and 87 countries.

ISTE made several announcements of new initiatives including:

• ISTE U: an online professional learning hub for teachers and leaders to build critical skills for teaching and learning in a digital world.
• ISTE Standards for Education Leaders: a framework to help focus their digital leadership.
• Edtech Advisor: a platform that gives ISTE members insight into which tools, technology and apps will best meet their learning objectives.
• Partnerships with General Motors and TED
