ISTE+ASCD Communities of Practice Application

June 30

In-Person and Online

Apply for the ISTE+ASCD Communities of Practice!

This experience is focused on:

- Equipping educators to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) as they create transformational learning experiences
- Helping teachers and education leaders build a deeper understanding of AI
- Exploring the opportunities and challenges of using AI as a tool within education
- Amplifying educator voices around the implications of AI for teaching and learning
- Learning, sharing, and supporting each other in a sustained, in-depth collaborative experience
- Becoming leaders and trainers for others across communities and cultural contexts

This 10-month in-depth learning experience will begin with a 2-day in-person convening in Charlotte, NC from September 29-30, 2025 and will be followed by monthly 60-minute virtual sessions. Communities of Practice will include cohorts for teachers, building administrators, and district leaders located in the United States or U.S. Territories.

We will explore the role AI plays in transforming teaching and learning, choose a problem of practice, and collaborate with other educators to iterate around potential solutions. Through these communities of practice, participants will create resources that will be shared with the wider educational community via the ISTE+ASCD GenerationAI resource hub, linked to https://generationai.org

Costs associated with the in-person convening will be covered by ISTE+ASCD and participants who successfully fulfill the requirements of the program will be provided with a $1000 stipend, paid in 2 installments over the 10 months.

Applications are due by 11:59 PM ET on July 20, 2025. Applicants will be notified in early August.
