More than 12,000 participants from across the United States and the world came together for ISTELive 21 – held virtually June 26-30 – to explore and share the latest innovations to improve teaching and learning experiences for students.

The ISTE annual conference has long brought together a passionate community of teachers, education leaders, tech providers and researchers from around the world to share insightful and inspiring stories about their latest teaching and learning approaches. This year’s conference featured mainstage presentations from:

  • Leslie Odom Jr., Tony, Grammy and Emmy award winner, and Academy Award nominee.
  • Susan Cain, New York Times bestselling author and speaker.
  • Dr. Miguel A. Cardona, U.S. Secretary of Education.
  • Todd Rose, Ph.D., co-founder and president of Populace, and author of The End of Average.
  • Nyla Hayhoe, environmental advocate, webinar series host and recent graduate at Bullis Charter School in Los Altos, California.

For the second year in a row, the ISTE conference was held virtually, in which attendees heard from experts on how to best engage with and support students in online, blended and face-to-face settings. The four-day conference, supported by more than 200 volunteers and staff, prompted almost 200,000 chats within the custom-built platform and had over 3,200 participants on the hunt for over 30,000 “Easter eggs” as part of the gamified experience.

ISTELive 21 is the premier event for sharing innovative work from educators and leaders working to transform the learning and teaching experience at schools. At ISTELive 21, 12,516 attendees from every U.S. state and 88 countries and territories participated in the conference. Attendees engaged in 1,518 learning opportunities and demos led by 2,287 presenters (including 256 student presenters) and 211 industry leaders. Fulton County Schools in Atlanta, Georgia had the most educators from a single district with 148 educators in attendance.

ISTELive will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana June 26-29, 2021. Click here to learn more.
